ALAVERT DESCRIPTION:
LORATADINE DISPERSIBLE TABLET - ORAL (lor-AT-uh-deen)

ALAVERT SIDE EFFECTS:
ALAVERT may cause headache, thirst, blurred vision, dry mouth and dry nose. These effects should subside as your body adjusts to the medication. If they continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop a rapid or pounding heartbeat, dizziness or unusual weakness while taking this medication. Loratadine does not usually cause drowsiness when used at recommended doses and under normal circumstances. However, be sure of the drug's effects before engaging in activities that require alertness. May discolor urine (this is harmless). If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE ALAVERT:
ALAVERT: Remove the tablet from its foil pack and place the tablet on the tongue. It will dissolve quickly. Take ALAVERT once daily or as directed. Use only on the tongue. Do not place in the cheek or under the tongue. Do not increase your dose or take more often than directed. Do not take ALAVERT for several days before allergy testing since test results can be affected.

ALAVERT USES:
Loratadine is an antihistamine that provides relief of symptoms of seasonal and allergic rhinitis such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes and sneezing. It is also used for hives.

ALAVERT PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you have a history of heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, breathing problems or if you have any allergies. Limit alcohol intake, as it may intensify drug side effects. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using ALAVERT. Loratadine is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

ALAVERT DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

ALAVERT OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unusual drowsiness, headache, and fast heartbeat.

ALAVERT NOTES:
Do not share ALAVERT with others.

MISSED ALAVERT DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

ALAVERT STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 36 and 77 degrees F (2 to 25 degrees C) away from heat and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Use within 6 months of opening laminated foil pouch and immediately after opening individual tablet compartment.
